Are Tempurpedic Mattresses Comfortable?

Most people are comfortable the first night on a Tempurpedic mattress, but for others it may take a couple days to get used to. The material reacts to the body’s temperature and weight. When you lay on the Tempur-pedic mattress the surface will become softer where your body makes the most contact. This will create a custom fit for the individual, reducing tossing and turning and increasing circulation.

In rooms of about 65 degrees or less the Tempra mattress material will become somewhat firmer. The material will still react to your body temperature and soften when the body makes contact. The warmer the room the softer the material will become. It is not recommended to use an electric blanket or heating pad on the tempurpedic material. Using such items may ruin or impair the material.

It is also said that the Tempur-pedic mattresses may have a slight odor. Some people have said it smells like chemicals or even just a musty odor. Tempurpedic assures us this is normal and completely harmless. The smell will dissipate in few days. The smell is the polyurethane used to make the tempura beds. There are a number of other products that use polyurethane such as furniture, automobile seats and surfboards.
