Buying a natural mattress can mean a number of things. Natural mattresses can be Organic mattresses, Latex mattresses or even Natural fiber mattresses. The most important factor in buying an all natural mattress is the mattress comfort and the peace of mind you find when you make your purchase decision. Organic cotton mattresses are free of the dangerous toxic chemicals that are found in the normal production of growing cotton. Organic Cotton mattresses are grown without the use of pesticides and insecticides which is healthier but a more difficult and expensive process. In most cases product labels that say Organic Cotton does not mean that it is 100% Organic Cotton, it just means that is has Organic Cotton in the product. The mattress may also have chemicals used in the process of making the mattresses.

There is no such thing as a 100% pure Organic Latex Mattress. If you are told that an Organic Latex Mattress is 100%, they may not know that the product isn’t or they are trying to make a sale. At most the Latex mattress may be up to 95% pure latex. Organic Latex Mattresses have a long lifetime and have been known to provide the healthy conforming support found in a visco-elastic memory foam mattress.

Natural Fiber Mattresses are made from vegetable and animal fibers. The vegetable fibers commonly used to make Natural fiber mattresses are cotton. The animal fiber commonly used to make Natural Fiber mattresses are wool from organically raised sheep that are feed organic feed and are not chemically treated with insecticides for reduction of pests.
